Konfiguracja hibernacji w Kubuntu 12.04 LTS

Serwus,

mam problem z uruchomieniem hibernacji w Kubuntu 12.04 LTS. Partycja swap jest (2x RAM), doinstalowałem pakiet hibernate (nie wiem czy jest potrzebny). Klikam hibernuj i system chyba się hibernuje, nie pokazuje standardowego ekranu zamykania plymouth lecz czarny, przy czym dysk mocno mieli (to chyba dobrze, bo zrzucany jest RAM na HDD). Następnie włączam system i uruchamia się normalnie, zamiast odhibernowywać się. Usypanie i wybudzanie działa poprawnie. Nie korzystam z zamkniętych sterowników.
Nigdy pod Linuksem nie miałem do czynienia z hibernacją, więc nawet nie wiem jak się za to dalej zabrać.

Hibernacja mocno zależy od sprzętu i wsparcia w zakresie zarządzania energią.
Niestety większość sprzętu produkują producenci, którzy nie chca sie przyznać, co spieprzyli w tym sprzęcie, więc zamiast dokumentacji jest tylko jakiś sterownik do Windows i kropka.

W Linuxie masz 2 opcje, albo pm-utils (czy ten skrypt himernate) - to jest prostsza metoda, albo TuxOnIce, ten jest trochę skuteczniejszy, ale musisz albo nałożyć łatke TOI przy kompilacji kernela, albo poszukac w PPA kernela z tą łatką, (niedawno było coś takiego).

Ten jest zauważalnie skuteczniejszy od standardowych rozwiązań.
Poza tym nie wiem, czy potrzebujesz na prawdę hibernacji na dysk, u mnie, jak testowałem hibernację na dysk z użyciem TOI - to owszem, dzialalo, tylko przy zapisaniu RAMU do Swapa z kompresją LZO, czas zapisania/odczytania tej pamieci wynosił około 20-23 sekundy, tyle trwało zarówno uśpienie, jak i wybudzenie kompa.
Bez kompersji to bylo około 35-40 sekund.

Biorąc pod uwagę, że mój Gentuś wtedy wstawał bez kłopotu do poziomu Xserwera (autologowanie w GDM) w czasie nie przekraczającym 18 sekund, uznałem, ze hibernacja na dysk po prostu nie ma sensu.

Próbuj, pm-utils nie zawsze daje radę, TOI też nie zawsze daje radę.
Te dowody na istnienie swapa nie są konieczne,wystarczy wynik z /proc/swaps.

Żeby odpalić prawidłowo hibernację, to sporo się trzeba nakombinować z nosem w logach kernela.
Tu masz PPA do TOI, osobiście go nie testowałem, ale podobno jest coś warte. ;)

Jednak sam musisz popróbować, a jak na forum, to z LOGAMI (ładnie wygrepowanymi, a nie kilometrowym śmietnikiem). ;)

Chyba, że znasz tu jakąś wróżkę ze szklaną kulą. :rotfl:

okay okay ;) z tego co tu piszą, to hibernacja została wyłączona w 12.04 LTS. Może jakiś moduł trza włączyć? TOI to dla mnie ostateczność.

A komputer w ogóle zaczął jakąkolwiek akcję?
Np zapisywania do swapa, czy zasnął?
Problemy rozwiązujemy na forum nie na PW -> Niech inni na tym skorzystają.
Komputer jest jak klimatyzacja - gdy otworzysz okna, robi się bezużyteczny...

Jest tak jak pisałem na początku

Spróbuj kernela, (i popytać) tutaj:

Bo w dystrybucyjnych Ubuntowych kernelach acpi często wychodzi "tak sobie".
Nie wykluczam, że jest coś walnięte w skryptach, ale tutaj nie pomogę z prostej przyczyny:
usypnianie do ram mam w zasięgu myszki w Gnome, hibernacji z zapisem na dysk nie używam, bo moim zdaniem to jest skórka nie warta wyprawy. ;)

Takie wynalazki, to nie dla mnie. Doczytałem o hibernacji i okazuje się, że może nawet doprowadzić do utraty danych. Co do TOI, to skoro Torvalds nie włączył tego do jądra, to zapewne są ku temu powody.

Torvalds i Spółka robią kernel, ktory jest czymś w rodzaju produktu masowego, po prostu możliwości Developerów kernela nie są nieskończone.
Kilka przykladów, ciekawych modułów, które nigdy nie trafiły do kernela:

Dazuko i dazukfs - dla skanerów antywirusowych czasu rzeczywistego.
TOI - hibernacja, znacznie lepsza od standardowej.
Grsecurity i Pax - pancerne zabezpieczenia, tworzące z Linuxa jeden z kilku najbezpieczniejszych systemów na świecie, obok OpenBSD.
CK - lepsza responsywność na desktopie.
RT - realtime dla zastosowan audio/wideo.

Takich przykładów jest znacznie wiecęj, jakbyś poszukał trochę, świat Linuxa nie kończy się na wypocinach Ubuntu, czy nawet standardowym kernelu.
Można w nim osiągnać conieco więcej, aniżeli oferuje standardowy kernel.

Kernele EXT73 są optymalizowane na lapki, które miewają kłopoty z zużyciem energii i acpi, poczytaj sobie komentarze użytkowników, jeśli potrafisz.
Ubuntu optymalizuje kernele do wszystkiego i niczego zarazem.

Także miauczenie, że hibernacja nie działa na standardowym kernelu, bez sprawdzenia, co oferuje TOI czy kernele i skrypty od EXT73 jest delikatnie pisząc, niezybt mądre.
A jak chcesz mieć zaufanie do kernela, i systemu, to naucz się sam budować system, lub choćby sam kernel.
Umiesz liczyć, licz na siebie. ;)

A kto pisze, że świat Linuksa kończy się na Ubuntu? Osobiście po ok. rocznym używaniu Debiana (od niego zacząłem kontakt z Linuksem) przeszedłem na Kubuntu (dlatego, że ma 5 lat wsparcia i planuję je wdrożyć w swojej firmie). Kompilacja jądra to pikuś ;) Za to wybranie odpowiednich opcji konfiguracyjnych (a jest ich grubo ponad 6tyś) to zajęcie długoterminowe. Ja jestem zwykłym użytkownikiem systemu, no może trochę zaawansowanym i nie mam aspiracji do pełnego ogarnięcia jądra, mam ciekawsze dla mnie zajęcia. Gdyby było inaczej, to np. używałbym białobrewego.
Grsecurity, pax i inne które wymieniłeś na desktopie są mi zbędne. Instalacja TOI owszem, może i zapewni poprawną hibernację, lecz nie chcę nowych problemów.
W większości dystrybucji jądra są uniwersalne (patrz np. Debian)

Obecnie konfig kernela, to jest od 15 minut do godziny roboty, i wcale nie 6000 pozycji, bo załezności między poszczególnymi modułami działają automatycznie, a w tych 6000 tysiącach masz ponad 4000 sterowników do wszystkich kart sieciowych, muzycznych, graficznych, multimedialnych, wifi, itp wyprodukowanych w ciągu ostatnich 15 lat.
A jak żyję nie widziałem kompa, w którym zmieściłbym np 300 kart dźwiękowych.
Krótko pisząc, kosmiczna trudność.

Heh, jednak hibernacja działa na dystrybucyjnym jajku. Miałem wcześniej ustawione wymuszone sprawdzanie systemu plików dla każdej partycji przy każdorazowym uruchamianiu systemu. Wyłączyłem to i hibernacja bangla :)
