Zrobiłem upgrade do wersji 13.04. Wszystko poszło dobrze, tylko nie zaktualizował jądra. Jak miałem 12.10 też nie aktualizował jądra, nawet nie informował o nowej wersji i nie pytał, czy zaktualizować. Co zrobić, żeby system informował i nowym jądrze i pytał o aktualizację? Teraz jest jądro 3.5.0-25 i gdy wydam polecenie aktualizacji, to informuje mnie, że jest aktualny system. A sprawdzałem w menedżerze pakietów i jest jądro 3.8.0

Coś jest nie tak, już w wersji 12.10 nie sprawdzał wersji jądra i musiałem ręcznie instalować w menedżerze pakietów. Nie wiem dlaczego nie sprawdza wersji zainstalowanego jądra? Przy upgradzie powinien wykryć nowsze jądro i go zainstalować. W wersji 12.10 przy której aktualizacji jądra coś poszło źle, wyskoczył jakiś błąd, ale nie zwracałem na to uwagi. I od tamtej pory przestał aktualizować jądro.

Mogę ręcznie zainstalować z menedżera pakietów, ale to powinno iść z update.

W jaki sposób aktualizowałeś do 13.04?

I jeszcze jedno, dodaj do tytułu wątku, że chodzi o aktualizację jądra w rozwojowej wersji 13.04 - 13.04 jest jeszcze bez oficjalnego wsparcia również na forum.

Poczekam, może ktoś ma pomysł, jak to naprawić. A jak nie, to zaktualizuję poprzez wymuszenie w menedżerze pakietów.

Z menedżera paczek zainstalowałem jądro 3.8. Dzisiaj pojawiła się aktualizacja 3.8 i też nie ma żadnej informacji o nowym jadrze. Dopiero, gdy zajrzałem do menedżera paczek to zobaczyłem, że jest dostępna nowa wersja. Z tą aktualizacją wygląda tak, jakby było wyłączone sprawdzanie wersji jądra. Jest jakaś opcja, którą można wskazać, które elementy systemu należy wyłączyć z aktualizowania?

prawdopodobnie nie masz zainstalowanego pakietu: linux-generic
( i stąd zapewne brak linux-image-generic oraz linux-headers-generic).
Bez nich nie zadziała automatyczna aktualizacja jądra.

Wykonałem polecenie. Na razie nie ma w aktualizacjach nowego jadra, a zainstalowałem najnowsze z paczek, więc na tę chwilę nie sprawdzę, czy to polecenie rozwiązało problem. Gdy pojawi się nowa wersja jądra, to dam znać o efektach.
