Witam!
Juz kiedys wspominalem ze na AC slysze dosc czesto "hrmm" z dysku.
Ostatnie 5 dni nie uzywalem neta i wylaczylem wifi, byla cisza. Dzisiaj wlaczylem, gdy laduje sie strona lub odswieza sie czat co 10 sek slysze dysk.
Jestem uczulony na te odglosy, wiec mnie wkurza. Zainstalowany kernel 17,7 64-bit, skrypty i APM 1,4 najnowszy.
Co sie dzieje ze na AC dysk parkuje tyle razy ?? Na genericu .x.x.16 tego nie bylo.

W tym tygodniu zrobie znowu podejscie do kernela 18 i sprawdze czy tez beda te stuki.

Nie tego jescze nie. Najlepiej, jak byś zrobił takie testy na w miarę czystej dystrybucji, np. sam mój kernel i standardowe programy. Prosiłbym Cię w takiej sytuacji o dokładny opis maszyny wyniki dmesg, lspci, logi kernela. Wtedy zobaczylibyśmy jaśniej, gdzie leży problem. Zresztą co do zmian w kernelu, widać że kwestie ewentualnych "bugów" związanych z USB wynikają z tego, że obecnie przebudowują całe usb-storage. Jednym z głównych powodów, jest chęć przyśpieszenia tych operacji, np. odczytu - zapisu na wolniejszych napędach USB. Realizują to m.in. poprzez zmiany w zarządzaniu pamięcią przez ten element i stąd wychodzą takie kwiatki, jak np. ten z Bluetooth na USB. Na teraz testuje wersje v18.3 bazującą na Linux-3.2.12 i działa na tę chwilę bez zarzutu. Widzę, że w kernelu 3.3.0 wprowadzono tak wiele zmian, że pewnie konieczne bedzie odczekanie przynajmniej do wersji 3.3.1 lub późniejszej zanim wypuszczę taki kernel. Inaczej skutkowało by to lawiną postów = nie działa, zwis, nie czyta napędu usb etc. :P

Zroniłem to co opisałem wcześniej - przerzucenie systemu na świeżą partycję ext4.

Same zmiany są rozległe, ale nie aż tak głębokie: Wyłączyłem usługi wg. twojego poradnika + kilka dodatkowych, typowo laptopowych. Zastąpiłem niestabilnego Compiza 0.9.4 + Unity wersją 0.8.6 z PPA. Wywaliłem wynalazki Mozilli, Sambę, Mono, Banshee, różne pliki pomocy i zbędne czcionki (np. azjatyckie), oraz oczywiście stare kernele. Dodałem za to Cairo Dock'a, VLC, DeadBeef, Chromium + FFMpeg Codecs Extra, Midori, LibreOffice 3.5 z PPA, Cardapio, Preload + Prelink i Window Applets. Sterowniki nVidii - 295.20 - mam z X-Updates/X-SWAT. Ostatnio także dodałem repozytoria Mint 11 "Katya", z których "zaktualizowałem" Ubuntu do Minta (trochę paczek zostało zastąpione identycznymi wersjami, tylko z dopiskiem "mint") i zainstalowałem bardzo dobrego Mint Update.

Zasadniczo modyfikacją są prawie wyłącznie od strony użytkownika, nie komunikacji sprzętem - nie grzebałem nic w konfiguracji zarządzania HDD, czy coś podobnego.

Ogólnie, o ile mnie pamięć nie myli, problemy z ATA datuję na jakiś rok wstecz, gdy, jeszcze pod 10.10, przesiadłem się na kernele oparte o 2.6.37 (14.x lub 15.x). Chyba więc najsensowniej byłoby porównać logi kernela i dmesg pod 18.x i generic, bo nie widzę jak cokolwiek z rzeczy opisanych wyżej mogłoby powodować te problemy.Jak wcześniej pisałem, preload i prelink praktycznie wykluczyłem, bo to nie pierwszy raz gdy zwiecha nastąpiła po ich usunięciu. Najgorsza jest ta pełna losowość tych problemów... :pt36:

Na 18.2 nie działa touchpad (nie mam innej myszki, żeby sprawdzić, czy działa). Jakie logi dać?

Chromium 17 + chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra daje efekt jaki opisałem, czyli płynne 720p na Pentium IV 3,06GHz HT, bez jakiegokolwiek wspomagania. Gdzie indziej chodzi źle nawet 360p, i to w okienku. Pod MiniTube mam też płynnego Flasha 720p (a raczej miałem, bo program znowu nie działa).

Dobrze kod znajduje się w jajku 3.3... I co dalej myslisz ze hurtowo zacznie się produkcja kerneli na smartphony? Czy wiesz ile to jest pracy? To nie jest jeden kernel rzucony na wszystkie androidy, każdy producent pszyswaja go do swojego modelu telefonu...

Masz zupełną rację. Ale teraz pojawia się plus taki, że jądro jest rozwijane przez dużo większe grono developerów. Nowe telefony z Androidem (te wydawane za 5-8 mies. od dziś) prawdopodobnie będą już miały nowy kernel. Plus jest też taki, że update już będzie szedł nie od producenta sprzętu a od googla (chyba jedna z większych bolączek jakie do tej pory są).

Przypomnij mi maszynę. Co do logów to na pewno prosiłbym Cię o logi lspci, lsusb, lsmod oraz dmesg - zarówno pod v18.2, jak i kernelem na którym touchpad działa.

Co do sterowników "Androidowych". Oczywiście dobrze, że zostały włączone do głównej gałęzi "vanilla". Natomiast w kwestii przydatności tych sterowników w przypadku kerneli K8, atom, Brazos, czy i7 ... to na teraz - nie będzie żadnej. Wynika to z faktu, że te sterowniki głównie skierowane są do urządzeń bazujących na architekturze ARM, a w/w kernele oczywiście x86 oraz x86_64. Jednak, jeśli wszystkie moje plany uda się zrealizować w tym roku, nie wykluczam również budowania zoptymalizowanego kernela dla architektury ARM [od ARMv7 w górę]. Zakładając, że gro sterowników zostanie włączone do kernela 3.3, a przede wszystkim 3.4 i następnych, taki kernel można zbudować tak, aby funkcjonowały na każdym urządzeniu/telefonie etc. zgodnym z powołaną architekturą ;).

Witam.
Chciałem zgłosić problem który mnie dręczy od dłuższego czasu. Sprzęt to 1201n. Mianowicie co jakiś czas kiedy bardziej obciążony jest dysk twardy zdarzają się mi takie akcje, że dysk parkuje głowice (słyszę to) i się wyłącza na 10 do 30s a czasem i dłużej. System wiadomo "zamarza" czasami działa to co jest jeszcze w ramie (np. mogę ruszać myszką, albo włączyć jakiś efekt Kwin) ale już uruchomienie jakiejś aplikacji jest nie możliwe. To znaczy system przyjmuje wszystkie moje polecenia ale je buforuje i czeka na odpowiedz od dysku. Po tych 30s nagle dysk ożywa (słychać to) i nagle otwiera się 5 programów na raz ( czyści bufor). Najpierw myślałem że to wina Chromium bo często się to zdarzało jak używałem tej przeglądarki nawet ktoś tu wspominał o podobnych akcjach, ale teraz używam firefoxa i to samo. Zresztą to nie wina żadnego z programów bo takie akcje dzieją mi się właśnie jak mocno jest obciążony dysk (np zapuszczę aktualizacje). Chyba częstotliwość tego zjawiska wzrosła po zastosowaniu skryptu APM ale i bez niego się to działo. Takie akcje mam na kernelach z rodziny 18, 17 i chyba 16 też miałem, na genericu jakby rzadziej się to zdarza ale owego mało co używam więc mało co się zdarza. Dołączam dmesg z sesji w ciągu której dwa razy miałem takie akcje:

Widzę, że jakieś błędy z NCQ, czyli dysk wariuje. Może przejście z EXT4 na inny system plików by pomógł? Jak odinstalować skrypt APM? Może zmiana tego śmiesznego parametru od parkowania głowicy by pomogła?

Chciałem zgłosić problem który mnie dręczy od dłuższego czasu. Sprzęt to 1201n. Mianowicie co jakiś czas kiedy bardziej obciążony jest dysk twardy zdarzają się mi takie akcje, że dysk parkuje głowice (słyszę to) i się wyłącza na 10 do 30s a czasem i dłużej. System wiadomo "zamarza" czasami działa to co jest jeszcze w ramie (np. mogę ruszać myszką, albo włączyć jakiś efekt Kwin) ale już uruchomienie jakiejś aplikacji jest nie możliwe. To znaczy system przyjmuje wszystkie moje polecenia ale je buforuje i czeka na odpowiedz od dysku. Po tych 30s nagle dysk ożywa (słychać to) i nagle otwiera się 5 programów na raz ( czyści bufor). Najpierw myślałem że to wina Chromium bo często się to zdarzało jak używałem tej przeglądarki nawet ktoś tu wspominał o podobnych akcjach, ale teraz używam firefoxa i to samo. Zresztą to nie wina żadnego z programów bo takie akcje dzieją mi się właśnie jak mocno jest obciążony dysk (np zapuszczę aktualizacje). Chyba częstotliwość tego zjawiska wzrosła po zastosowaniu skryptu APM ale i bez niego się to działo. Takie akcje mam na kernelach z rodziny 18, 17 i chyba 16 też miałem, na genericu jakby rzadziej się to zdarza ale owego mało co używam więc mało co się zdarza. Dołączam dmesg z sesji w ciągu której dwa razy miałem takie akcje:

Widzę, że jakieś błędy z NCQ, czyli dysk wariuje. Może przejście z EXT4 na inny system plików by pomógł? Jak odinstalować skrypt APM? Może zmiana tego śmiesznego parametru od parkowania głowicy by pomogła?
Widziałem takie błędy dwa razy. Na jednym z moich dysków, gdy ... odpiął [obluzował] się kabelek sata. Drugi raz u znajomego - tu „padła” elektronika dysku. Jeśli możesz zobacz, czy kabel jest zamontowany dobrze, albo go lepiej wymień. W innym przypadku mógł po prostu "paść" dysk - ten log na to wskazuje. Zatem albo problemy w połączeniu z kontrolerem - kabel, albo siadła elektronika dysku.

Jednak, jeśli wszystkie moje plany uda się zrealizować w tym roku, nie wykluczam również budowania zoptymalizowanego kernela dla architektury ARM [od ARMv7 w górę]
Szkoda że nie od ARMv6 bo bym się załapał :/
