Skaner pracuje prawidłowo z firmowymi sterownikami na usb, pracuje prawidłowo w sieci pod winXP ale nie jest widoczny w sieci dla xsane ani dla Samsung Unified Driver. Jak "ręcznie" podać xsane gdzie ma poszukać skanera (próbowałem już z plikami saned.conf i net.conf w katalogu sane.d).

scanimage -L daje rezultat:

check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation

sane-find-scanner daje rezultat:

Dla mojego MP620 mam taki wpis

Wyjaśniam, aby być dobrze zrozumianym.
Samsung SCX4824FN jest urządzeniem wielofunkcyjnym sieciowym (posiada wbudowaną kartę sieciową).
Używam go przez sieć ale można go także używać po usb. Drukowanie działa poprawnie zarówno przez sieć (ustawiłem ją jako drukarkę ipp) jak i po usb, zarówno na windowsie jak i na linuksie (ubuntu, debian). W linuksie zastosowałem sterowniki producenta (20080325170052640_UnifiedLinuxDriver) ze strony Samsunga.
Skaner pracuje prawidłowo w linuksie po usb (kooka, xsane, Samsung Unified Driver Configurator) oraz w windowsie po sieci i po usb. Przez sieć linux nie widzi skanera.
Na podstawie tego co znalazłem w internecie wydaje mi się, że przyczyna może znajdować się w pliku /etc/sane.d/net.conf:

Jak powinien wyglądać ten plik, aby informował sane o tym, gdzie ma szukać skanera. Próbowałem kombinacji z wpisywaniem IP, portów ale to nic nie dało.
Skaner ma nadany stały adres IP.
Próbowałem też z najnowszym sterownikiem od Samsunga (UnifiedLinuxDriver_1.00) - nic z tego.

W /etc/sane.d/dll.conf mam odkomentowaną linijkę net

EDIT:
Przeszukałem dokładnie fora anglojęzyczne. Wszędzie jest podane, że wystarczy w pliku /etc/sane.d/net.conf dodać linijkę z adresem sieciowym skanera, czyli w moim przypadku:
192.168.0.210
Opisana jest też konfiguracja serwera, tylko u mnie rolę serwera spełnia samsung scx4824 i możliwości jego konfiguracji są bardzo ograniczone. Nie mam już więcej pomysłów.
Kombinacje typu IP : PORT też przerabiałem.
