Jak uruchomić wifi na IBM T41 z Lubuntu? [Atheros AR5212]

Zainstalowałem Lubuntu. Podczas instalacji wykrył i połączył się z siecią. Po instalacji nie wykrywa jej.
Dodatkowo włożyłem taką kartę sieci bezprzewodowej. Na chwilę pojawia się "Rozłączono", by po chwili pojawił się napis "Znaleziono sieci bezprzewodowe. Aby się zn nimi połączyć otwórz menu sieci". Niestety w menu sieci nic się nie zmienia i sieć jest niewidoczna.
Laptop o parametrach:
IBM T41

Ona działa, ma załadowane właściwy moduł i sterownik, widzi rozgłaszane tam u ciebie sieci.
Problem najwyraźniej w programie zestawiającym połączenie, nie wiem co tam jest pod LXDE bo nigdy tego nie używałem.

Jak ten program nie bangla, to spróbuj połączyć się z wifi ręcznie. Wydaj

Niestety nie łączy. Po wpisaniu komendy prosi o hasło, wpisuję, ale nic poza tym się nie dzieje, a połączenia dalej nie ma.

Jaki tam masz menedżer połączeń? Możesz się połączyć po kablu? Usuń to co tam masz i spróbuj zainstalować Wicd.

Zanim jeszcze sprawdzę te informacje z cat (pora mocno obiadowa), to skoro tak się dzieje po zmianie routera, to może tu tkwi problem? Dobrze skonfigurowany? Hasła prawidłowe?

Sieć nie jest zabezpieczona. Internet Wi-Fi na laptopie w Windows XP jest.

Wyżej napisałeś, że wpisujesz hasło :)
Mogę się mylić, ale mi wygląda na to, że masz wadliwie skonfigurowanego NetworkManagera (gdzieś po drodze się zresztą drze, że brak mu konfiguracji ifupdown). Najprościej wywalić w całości połączenie, które tam masz, a potem raz jeszcze spróbować je skonfigurować. Niekiedy też przeinstalowywałem NM. Można również zainstalować WICD (taką poradę masz gdzieś wyżej) w miejsce NM.

Nie bardzo Ciebie rozumiem.
1. Ustawienia sieci - robisz bez żadnej instalacji.
2. NM masz na płycie instalacyjnej, zatem można to przeinstalować stamtąd; być może też jest w /var/cache/apt/archives/
3. WICD - jeśli się nie mylę możesz zainstalować tylko pobierając je z repozytorium (tzn. nie ma go w obrazach iso).
Analiza reszty musi poczekać (przynajmniej w moim przypadku) chwilę.

W ustawieniach sieci próbowałem dodać nową sieć bezprzewodową. Niestety bezskutecznie, pomimo wpisania danych we wszystkie pola

Pożycz zatem ponownie tą drugą kartę do testów, tą na której połączenie działa i zaktualizuj swój system oraz jajko zgodnie z tym poradnikiem: viewtopic.php?f=146&t=168829. Kopia ważnych danych zawsze jest zalecana.

Sory za kilka dni nieaktywności.
Z mojego pierwszego posta:
Dodatkowo włożyłem taką kartę sieci bezprzewodowej. Na chwilę pojawia się "Rozłączono", by po chwili pojawił się napis "Znaleziono sieci bezprzewodowe. Aby się zn nimi połączyć otwórz menu sieci". Niestety w menu sieci nic się nie zmienia i sieć jest niewidoczna.
Chodzi o to, że dzieje się to samo, co zaraz po restarcie kompa - wykrywa sieci, by połączyć z siecią wejdź w menu sieci, jednak nie da się połączyć. W przypadku tej wtykanej karty po jej wyjęciu pojawia się komunikat "rozłączono"
