Zainstalowałem sobie ubuntu na laptopie samsung SA11.
Teraz, jak uruchomić/skonfigurować sieć bezprzewodową(bez dostępu do internetu kablowego).
Przy pierwszym uruchomieniu wyświetlił mi się komunkat o sterownikach własnościowych do karty bezprzewodowej. Obecnie są włączone. Niestety nie umiem w ogóle uruchomić sieci bezprzewodowej.

Z obsługą kart Atherosa radzi sobie np Madwifi. Jaki masz dokładnie model?

Niestety nie potrafię ściągnąć madwifi, bo z poziomu ubuntu nie mam dostępu do internetu(w domu mam tylko internet bezprzewodowy).

Mam ten sam laptop i ten sam problem. (Mam dostęp do neta kablowego.)

Zainstalowałem Madwifi i http://madwifi-project.org/ticket/1192 dalej brak zmian.

Wcześniej próbowałem System->Administracja->Sterowniki Windows .... Załadowałem pokazało Sprzed obecny
W sterownikach własnościowych wykryło włączyłem także nic

Próbowałem te trzy sposoby osobno nic tak samo razem.

nawiasem mówiąc opis zawdzięczamy frklin.owi. U mnie to zadziałało( mam Samsunga R510). A koledze z pierwszego postu polecam podłączyć się gdzieś kablem i też to pociągnąć.

Jest błąd literówka. Tu jest prawidłowy

Zainstalowałem menadżerem pakietów zanim się zorientowałem i dalej

Mam włączone wszystkie typy aktualizacji. Ubuntu 8.10 32bit

Udało mi się włączyć WiFi
rozwiązanie znalazłem na stronie

Remove the installed driver. Go to System?>Administration?>Hardware Drivers and disable by un-ticking the following option

Atheros Hardware Access Layer (Hal)

Then Reboot your system.

Go into the terminal and install the following:

sudo apt-get install build-essential subversion autoconf automake
Afther this remove any existing wifi mods afaik this should do it:

sudo modprobe -r ath_pci
sudo modprobe -r ath_hal
sudo modprobe -r wlan
To get the correct(according to this comment) madwifi driver I'm using Subversion.

On the terminal issue the following command:

svn co http://svn.madwifi-project.org/madwifi/branches/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6/ madwifi
Now enter the madwifi directory

cd madwifi 
Compile

make
then

sudo make install-modules 
Now we can install the modules into the kernel using the following

niestety po resecie musiałem wykonać jeszcze raz dwie ostatnie komendy
