[solved] Laptop HP nx7400 zwolnił niemiłosiernie

Niech mnie ktoś oświeci, bo nie zdzierżę... Od jakichś kilku dni laptop z Ubuntu 11.10 chodzi jak ślimak wsadzony do smoły. Nie od razu po uruchomieniu, ale wystarczy 15 minut przeglądania netu i nie da się nic robić. Sprzęt leży na biurku (nie na żadnych kołdrach itd.) Używam Ubuntu od wersji 7.10, i dopóki było Gnome 2 to jeszcze ten laptop jakoś ciągnął (HP nx7400 z core2duo, 1GB ram, zintegrowana grafika), wiem że sprzęt może nie nowy, ale powyłączałem wszystkie oczoyebne dodatki, nie używam dźwięku, gnome 3 w wersji bez efektów, wentylator od kilku już wersji mało nie wyskoczył z laptopa. Co jest grane? To w tą stronę idzie Ubuntu? Chyba trzeba będzie mu podziękować, jak tak dalej pójdzie i przesiąść się na normalniejszą dystrybucję.

Zdradzisz konkretnie, jaki to układ? Może problem tkwi w jego niskiej wydajności lub niewłaściwych sterownikach?

Przetestuj może Lubuntu z środowiskiem LXDE . Na moim małym asusie ( Atom + 1GB Ram ) mam 11.04 LXDE pracuje stabilnie i się nie wlecze
( internet , multimedia... ) zużywa 110 mb ramu w trybie gotowości i szybko się uruchamia ;-)

Instalowałem już LXDE (zupełnie nowa instalacja) - wiatrak jak wył tak wyje, wydaje mi się że to nie tutaj wina. Obok mam XP i tam nie ma problemów z temperaturą/zasilaniem/wiatrakami.
Na wcześniejszych wersjach wiatrak również się włączał na wysokie obroty, ale nie pracował bez przerwy tak jak to robi teraz. Gdzieś chyba od wersji 10.10 albo 11.04 to się zaczęło.

Na zrzucie z top'a widać, że system jest mocno obciążany przez proces updatedb (związany z możliwością wyszukiwania przy pomocy polecenia locate).
Czy taką prawidłowość widać za każdym razem, kiedy komputer zaczyna "wariować"?

Generalnie jest tak, że wentylator wyje cały czas, praktycznie zaczynając od trzeciej minuty po uruchomieniu. Natomiast podczas zamulenia zauważyłem, że w procesach jest uruchomiona aktualizacja. Z tym, że później już po aktualizacji jest dalej zmulony. Pomaga restart, trochę posiedzę na XP, laptop się schłodzi i znowu mogę się przeładować na Ubuntu. Z tym, że próbowałem już z Lubuntu, nawet z Debianem - na każdym z nich wentylator chodzi na maksa. Czemu tak jest?

Laptopy HP słyną z przegrzewania coś tam źle zaprojektowali. Ja bym zrobił tak usunął pakiet odpowiedzialny za aktualizacje, od tej pory musisz to wykonywać ręcznie

przeważnie i tak robię ręcznie prze apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, więc to nie problem. Co do kernela kolegi ext73 - gdzie je mogę znaleźć, jeśli mógłbyś podać jakiś link do opisów, byłbym wdzięczny.

dużo lapów z sterowniku dla mswindows ma ograniczenie softwarowe taktowania zegara procesora w ubuntu może tego zabrakło. kumpela tak zajechał paviliona że na złom jedynie się nadawał właśnie przez brak sterowników firmowych

Rozwiązanie problemu, jeśli można to tak ująć, mieści się w dwóch słowach: aktualizacja BIOS. Dla potomnych - do pobrania http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te ... Id=1847094 - plik wykonywalny exe, wykonanie pod Windows. Wiatrak zwolnił, pracuje normalnie, więc raczej pomogło.
EDIT:
oczywiście mam na myśli Ubuntu bo pod Windowsem nie było tego problemu.
