Jak zainstalować Firefox 3.5 na Ubuntu 9.04?

Z racji tego, że dziś wyszedł Firefox 3.5, chciałem sobie go zainstalować na moim Ubuntu 9.04. Wiem, że go w repozytoriach oficjalnych do Ubuntu nie znajdę, więc chciałem zainstalować z kodu źródłowego. Jednak po wydaniu komendy ./configure wyskakuje błąd:

Niestety nie znalazłem nic na temat tego błędu w sieci. Może jest jakiś inny sposób, żeby zainstalować tą przeglądarkę?

Ale nie będzie to przeszkadać jak mam Ubuntu 64-bitowe?

Firefox 32-bitowy będzie bez problemu działał, bo systemy 64-bitowe są kompatybilne wstecz z 32-bitami.

Jeśli chcesz pod swoją architekturę Firefoksa, to faktycznie musisz skompilować źródła. Poradniki na ten temat są w internecie.

Generalnie jeśli jesteś początkującym użytkownikiem zaleca się, abyś poczekał trochę na wydanie pakietów deb.

Ok, a skąd można ściągnąć taki pakiet deb?

Gdy się pojawi w repozytoriach dostaniesz informację o dostępnej aktualizacji. Zazwyczaj aktualizacje Firefoksa pojawiają się w repozytoriach kilka dni po oficjalnym wydaniu.

Możliwe, że w internecie znajdziesz jakieś "nieoficjalne" pakiety.

Jeszcze jedno pytanie: znalazłem poradnik jak zainstalować firefoxa 3.5, zrobiłem jak tam napisali ale nadal wyskakuje mi błąd taki jak w pierwszym poście. Co to może znaczyć?

Jaki poradnik? Co zrobiłeś? Z fusów tego nie wywróżę.

Poza tym - jak już pisałem - kompilacja nie jest przeznaczona dla początkujących użytkowników.
Jeśli już teraz masz problem z błędem, którego treść podaje rozwiązanie, to później pewnie będzie tylko gorzej...

Dalej nie rozumiem co ten poradnik ma do błędu z pierwszego posta...

No, że zainstalowałem wszystkie biblioteki i próbuję ./configure to mi wyskakuje błąd, taki jak w pierwszym moim poście. Skoro się nie da skompilować, to poszukałem i znalazłem ten poradnik do którego dałem link, ale metody tam opisane też nie pomagają.

A jakieś konkrety? Co próbowałeś? Co nie działa? Jakie są efekty tego niedziałania (komunikaty, błędy)?

He he ale powiedz co ty kompilujesz? Nie potrzeba nic kompilować. Ściągasz paczkę firefox-3.5.tar.bz2

rozpakowywujesz ją, wchodzisz do folderu firefox i tam uruchamiasz plikiem firefox. Masz uruchomiony Firefox 3.5 na Linuksie:)

Tak mnie wciągnęliście, że znalazłem deba:)
Wystarczy dodać do sources.list to repozytorium:

I wydać polecenie:

a nawet:

Przeglądarka jest po angielsku i nazywa się Shiretoko Web Browser, ale jest szybsza jak widzę:)

coś mnie chyba cyganicie dalej - zrobiłam wszystko to co napisał luk1don i dalej mi pokazuje że mam firefox 3.0 a zainstalowałam poleceniem

i nawet choć nie wiem po co zrestartowałam komputer
