nieudane pobieranie informacji z repozytoriów

Już któryś raz spotykam się z problemem

i któryś raz proszę o rozwiązanie problemu.

Tak więc wbijam w konsole sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list lecz nie mogę znaleźć tam niczego co by pasowało do tego powyżej.
Następnie postanowiłem uderzyć z innej strony w problem za pomocą sudo remove-apt-repository

/usr/bin/remove-apt-repository: line 44: aptitude: nie znaleziono polecenia
unsuccessful removing - ppa launchpad repository not present or wrong syntax

Może mi ktoś wytłumaczyć jak w miarę szybko uporać się z tego typu sprawami. Pisanie za każdym razem gdy jest problem mija się z celem.
