konversja pliku dav na avi

Witam
Przeszukałem net, ale nie znalazłem; czy jest coś w repozytoriach żeby móc przekonwertować plik video dav(z DVR - CCTV) na avi? Na windowsa jest kilka aplikacji tego typu, czy pod linuxem też się coś znajdzie?

Jak do *.mp4 potrafi, to może i do *.avi też by umiał?

Dziękuję za odpowiedź. Ale czy komendy apt-get są konieczne - czy system i oprogramowanie nie instaluje się automatycznie? Niejednokrotnie Lubuntu pytał mnie czy dokonać aktualizacji? Jest jakaś różnica między apt-get update / apt-get upgrade a updatem w systemie graficznym?

Update w trybie graficznym i tak korzysta z tych samych repozytoriów i tego samego apt-get, którego Ty wywołałeś bezpośrednio z konsoli. Tu nie ma większego znaczenia, co byś nie użył, silnikiem napędzającym będzie APT/DPKG, te wszystkie graficzne aktualizatory (USC, Synaptic itp.) to po prostu nakładki na apt-get.
Reasumując: Oczywiście, mógłbyś to samo wyklikać w Centrum Oprogramowania Ubuntu - wedle Twojego uznania, choć ja tam osobiście preferuję konsolę
