Niedawno przesiadłem się z Windows 7 na Linuxa. Mój wybór padł na Ubuntu. Niestety pojawił się problem z działaniem narzędzia wielofunkcyjnego Brother DCP-7030. Pobrałem sterowniki ze strony Brothera i zainstalowałem je wg instrukcji:

O ile instalacja sterowników do drukarki przebiegła bezproblemowo i drukarka działa poprawnie, to po instalacji sterowników do skanera, ten nie działa. Poszperałem w necie szukając rozwiązania i zasięgnąłem pomocy na forum linuxiarze.pl (link do historii naszych "zmagań" podaję niżej), ale mimo tego nie udało się zmusić skanera do działania:

W międzyczasie musiałem wymienić dysk w komputerze. Ponownie zainstalowałem na nim sterowniki i tak jak poprzednio drukarka działa, skaner - nie. Po instalacji zrobiłem jeszcze tak jak proponuje producent urządzenia w tym wątku:

jednak nic to nie dało.
Polecenie "scanimage -L" pokazuje:
