Nie mogę zmienić ustawień ekranu

Witam, niedawno zainstalowałem Ubuntu 11.10 i mam problem: nie mogę zmienić ani rozdzielczości ekranu ani jego jasności. Gdy wchodzę w "Ekran" pokazuje mi "nieznany" monitor. -Wiem, że to częsty problem-znalazłem w googlach, że wystarczy dopisać do gruba "acpi_osi=Linux" ale mi to nie pomaga. Dodam, że gdy wchodzę w /etc/X11/xorg.conf, to widzę tylko białe tło, tak jakbym nie miał ustawień karty graficznej. Chciałem zainstalować sterowniki do karty (Intel GMA 4500M), ale nie wiem jak-mógłby ktoś pomóc, bo jestem nowy ?

Generalnie karty Intela są jakieś pokopane...jednym działają bez problemu..innym nie:/ Sam mam Intela i też różnie to bywa w zależności od wersji Ubuntu... Obecnie siedzę na 10.10 i nie mam problemów.
Jak instalowałem 11.04 (z ciekawości, żeby zobaczyć jak wygląda) to też mi się krzaczyło...

1. Komuisan, gdy robię według tego poradnika to po komwndzie: "$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" xorg.config ciągle mam pusty.
2. Mucha090, po wpisaniu pierwszej komendy wyskakuje: "Program glxinfo nie jest obecnie zainstalowany. Możesz go zainstalować wpisując:
sudo apt-get install mesa-utils" -mam zainstalować?

tak zainstaluj mesa-utils ale najpierw zmień nazwę tematu tak aby nie było w nim słowa problem

Zainstalowałem, ale nie wiem co dalej Dodam, że xorg.conf ciągle mam pusty.
Wcześniej edytowałem ten wpis w Grubie:

Problem w tym, że bez nomodeset Ubuntu mi się nie włącza-robi się czarny ekran i dysk się wyłącza.

a czekaj, czy jak wchodzisz w ekrany (tam w ustawieniach systemu) to możesz zmieniać rozdzielczość (lub wogóle coś zrobić?), bo to że tobie pokazuje monito nieznany to nie oznacza że rodzielczości nie da się zmnienić (ja też tak mam ale moe zmieniać rodzielczość)

Niestety, mam do wyboru tylko jedną i to mniejszą niż natywna.
Rozważam przejście do Ubuntu 10.10, ale nie wiem czy warto-jaka jest różnica?

spróbuj z linux mint 12 - coś jak ubuntu tyle że bez unity i jeśli tobie gnome shell nie odpowiada zawsze możesz sobie zainstalować cinnamon-session i być szczęśliwym posiadaczem linuxmint

Pomyśle o tym Najpierw jednak zainstaluje Ubuntu 10.10 żeby sprawdzić czy ustawienia ekranu będą działać.

Cześć, to znowu ja. Zainstalowałem ubunutu 10.10. Ekran i rozdzielczość wykrywa mi normalnie, jednak ciągle nie mogę zmienić jasności. Myślę, że wpis w grubie "acpi=Linus" mógłby pomóc, jednak gdy wpisuję "sudo gedit /etc/default/grub.cfg" to wyskakuje mi tylko puste okno. Jakiś pomysł?

Edit: Sorry, wpisywałem złą komendę. Ostatecznie po wgraniu Ubuntu 10.10 i dopisaniu w grubie "acpi_osi=Linux" wszystko działa.
