Mam pewien problem z audio pod Ubuntu.
Zacznę może od początku. Korzystam z laptopa Dell Inspiron N7110 i mam w nim lekko uszkodzony port wyjścia słuchawkowego - lekko, bo dźwięk leci przez niego jak najbardziej w porządku, lecz nie działa poprawnie rozpoznawanie podłączenia gniazda. Metalowy 'ząbek' w gnieździe, który jest za to odpowiedzialny, wykruszył się lekko podczas małego wypadku
Ominąłem problem poprzez wyłączenie opcji Auto-mute i ustawienie na skróty klawiszowe ręcznego przełączenia wyjścia dźwięku (przez pulseaudio).Obecnie po aktualizacji łubudubuntu do wersji 12.04 (a więc także jądra) opcja Auto-mute [disabled/enabled] nic nie zmienia i jak lekko ruszę kablem, wtykiem, wyjście nieoczekiwanie przełącza na głośniki w laptopie.
Pod innymi dystrybucjami jest tak samo, to kwestia wersji jądro, a konkretnie modułu audio mojej karty dźwiękowej.
