Ubuntu 10.10 LiveCD Desktop i modem GSM ZTE MF636 Orange

Mam problem, Network Manager wykrywa modem ale nie chce się połączyć z internetem.
Po podłączeniu modem zostaje wykryty dopiero po kilkudziesięciu sekundach,
pojawia się okienko o podanie kodu pin, który wpisuję poprawnie, następnie
jest konfigurator połączenia GSM gdzie wybieram Poland -> Orange -> Domyślny.
Modem próbuje się połączyć (ikona jest aktywna) ale wyskakuje GSM Network Disconnect.
Modem zmienia kolor świecenia diody z żółtego stałego na zielone stałe.

Witam.
też miałem problem z konfiguracją tego modemu pod zainstalowanym ubuntu 10.10. Prawie cały czas network manager próbował się łączyć z siecią orange i potem rozłączał modem. Sprawdzony sposób, który zadziałał to

Wvdialem to mi chodzi bez problemu.
Uparłem się na NM.
Zauważyłem, że gdy podłącze modem to NM próbuje się połączyć a potem jak kliknę prawym na ikonkę to opcja "Sieć komórkowa" nie jest zaznaczona, więc zaznaczam ale dalej to samo.
Ktoś pomoże???

Sorki że jak tak trochę z innej beczki. Widzę że macie poinstalowane modemy zte pod ubuntu 10.10. Mam do was wielką prośbę czy możecie mi wyjaśnić jak zainstalwać to cholerstwo bo w żaden sposób nie chce działać. System wogóle nie wykrywa tego modemu chociaż pod lsusb jest widoczny. Proszę o pomoc. z góry dzieki.

Modem pod ubuntu 10.10 nie jest widoczny. We wcześniejszej dystrybucji, jaką jest ubuntu 10.04 po uruchomieniu systemu widoczna była ikonka wirtualnego cd-romu (w moim przypadku jest to logo orange). W ubuntu 10.10 niestety ta ikonka nie jest widoczna. Jak uruchomisz system to musisz otworzyć terminal i wpisać

Po chwili zobaczysz na pulpicie ikonkę usb (jeśli oczywiście masz w swoim modemie włożoną kartę micro sd). Jak teraz odpalisz terminal i wpiszesz komendę

to ujrzysz modem podłączony do portu dev/ttyUSB3. Po dłuższej chwili powinien się odezwać network manager i będzie Cię prowadził przez konfigurację modemu. Wykonaj ją, ale gwarantuję Ci, że się nie połączy. Po pierwszej próbie, która pozwoli Ci odblokować kartę SIM daj sobie spokój z network managerem, a użyj skonfigurowanego wvdial'a. Teraz wystarczy Ci skrypt do połączenia z internetem. We wcześniejszych wersjach ubuntu, w których network manager w ogóle nie rozpoznawał modemu trzeba było dodawać specjalny skrypt, który pozwalał na odblokowanie karty SIM poprzez wprowadzenie pin-u. Najgorsze jest to, że modem rozłączał się bez przyczyny po około godzinie surfowania (chociaż udało mi się tak skonfigurować modem, że się nie rozłączał, ale wyszły poprawki, które rzekomo poprawiają działanie systemu i moja konfiguracja modemu wzięła w łeb. Ba, nawet wyłączało mi terminal z uruchomionym wvdial'em). Nie wiem jak modem będzie Ci się sprawował na ubuntu 10.10, ale może z jego stabilnością będzie lepiej niż we wcześniejszych dystrybucjach. Podstawowy skrypt do wvdial'a znajdziesz na tym forum. Teraz akurat nie mogę tego podrzucić, bo nie odpisuję ze swojego kompa. Jedna rada, daruj sobie modemy gsm. Najlepsza jakość połączenia jest na kablu (zwróć nawet uwagę na zdjęcia prezentowane na stronach www). Poza tym dzięki stałemu łączu będzie Ci chodzić każda dystrybucja. Bez kabla nie postawisz większości dystrybucji, a o np. dystrybucji archlinux nie masz co marzyć. Wiem, że modem gsm to wygoda, a może też nie masz innej opcji, jak korzystanie z tego ustrojstwa, jednak większość tych modemów nie jest z założenia przystosowana do pracy z linuksem, stąd występujące problemy. Wiem, że producenci powinni dostarczać sterowniki, ale to oddzielny temat. Poza tym większość użytkowników linuksa odradza network managera na rzecz połączenia przez wvdial. A jeśli nie chcesz konfigurować wvdial'a to zastosuj skrypt sakis3g. Musisz jednak mieć zainstalowanego wvdial'a w systemie (możesz zainstalować paczki z płyty ubuntu), ale mi na sakisie pod ubuntu 10.04 zrywało mi połączenie i to częściej niż pod własnoręcznie skonfigurowanym wvdial'em.
