[SOLVED] Konfiguracja obsługi dwóch monitorów

Bez owijania w bawełnę przejdźmy do konkretów. Mam problem z konfiguracją obsługi dwóch monitorów(z czego jeden jest telewizorem ). Polega on na tym, że na telewizorze wyświetla mi się szary obraz, plus kursor w postaci X'a.

Mogę sobie na tym ekranie utworzyć folder, otworzyć go(nautilus startuje bez żadnego obramowania), nawet włączyć jakiś film!(otwiera się oczywiście bez obramowania, jednakże wybierając odpowiednią opcję w smplayerze mogę go zmaksymalizować i działa to całkiem nieźle) no i to by było na tyle. Oczywiście zależy mi na tym, by na drugim ekranie otrzymać drugie, pełnoprawne środowisko.

Jestem praktycznie pewien, że X'y mam skonfigurowane poprawnie, a mimo to, w ustawieniach Unity mam do wyboru tylko jeden monitor(do tego źle nazwany).

Wydaje mi się, że wystarczy tego suchego gadania i trochę screenów rozjaśni sytuację.

Na koniec dodam jeszcze, że na archu(kde) i debianie(gnome) nie miałem problemu z konfiguracją, także mam nadzieję, że i ten problem uda się jakoś łatwo rozwiązać.

Ztcw nVidia dopiero od niedawna obsługuje protokół RandR. Tak więc jeżeli masz trochę wolnego czasu na instalację najświeższych sterowników, to może się udać.

Hm... Nie jestem pewien czy dobrze rozumiem, ale wydaje mi się, że RandR służy do ustawienia monitorów w trybie TwinView, a ja planuję ustawienie ich w "Separate X Screen"(dwa, niezależne środowiska).

A poza tym, gdyby RandR był do tego potrzebny, nie byłbym w stanie ustawić tego poprzednio na Archu i Debianie, prawda?

Z Twojego konfiga wynika, że chcesz mieć dwa ekrany zarządzane przez jeden X serwer - RandR właśnie to umożliwia - orientowanie wielu 'screenów' względem siebie.
W ramach eksperymentu możesz "na chwilę" przestawić xorg.conf na driver nouveau - wtedy powinieneś bezproblemowo uzyskać dwuekranowe środowisko graficzne.

Jestem na 100% pewien, że używałem własnościowych sterowników nvidii.

W ramach eksperymentu możesz "na chwilę" przestawić xorg.conf na driver nouveau - wtedy powinieneś bezproblemowo uzyskać dwuekranowe środowisko graficzne.

Faktycznie, po zmianie sterownika na nouveau pojawia się środowisko na drugim ekranie. Niestety, wraz z nim pojawia się kolejny problem. Otóż przy ustawieniu



obraz na telewizorze jest "spłaszczony" do formatu 5:4.

Najwyraźniej Twój telewizor nie podał kompletu rozdzielczości, które potrafi obsługiwać.
1. Usuń z xorg.conf w opisach monitorów wpisy o hsync i vsync, a najlepiej wygeneruj nowy, "generyczny" xorg.conf dla nouveau. Być może wpisy które zostawił generator nvidii ograniczają możliwości telewizora.
2. Zgodnie z opisem podanym na tej stronie "certain model of Toshiba TV doesn't report EDID". Być może posiadasz właśnie taki monitor i powinieneś wygenerować sobie odpowiednie modeline korzystając z narzędzia gtf. Dodaj potem wygenerowane modeline w sekcji monitor xorg.conf i powinno grać.

Hm... Nie potrafię sobie poradzić z fragmentem dodania modeline'a do xorg.conf. Ten automatycznie wygenerowany jest zbyt surowy i nie mogę rozgryźć który monitor jest który.

Odpal xsy z takim xorg.conf a potem wrzuć /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Tam powinno być napisane co i jak zostało wykryte i użyte. Jeżeli automatycznie nie użyje drivera nouveau, to odkomentuj opcję "Driver", wpisz "nouveau" i spróbuj jeszcze raz.

Update: Na tej stronie w sekcji "Adding undetected resolutions" jest przykład jak dodawać nowe rozdzielczości "w biegu" za pomocą polecenia xrandr bez konieczności edycji xorg.conf. W szczególnym przypadku powinno wystarczyć:

No i po powyższych zabawach, jestem zmuszony do używania konta gościa. Nie jestem w stanie zalogować się na swoje konto. Przy logowaniu, po podaniu prawidłowego hasła słyszę krótki dźwięk, a następnie ponownie wyświetla mi się ekran logowania. Dziwne...

Po ponownej instalacji sterowników nvidii z repo, nadal nie mogę się zalogować na swoje konto, jakiś pomysł?

Nie jestem pewien, ale wydaje mi się, że to Xserver się restartuje podczas próby zalogowania na moje właściwe konto i cofa mnie z powrotem na ekran logowania. Tylko... dlaczego z zalogowaniem się na konto gościa nie mam żadnych problemów?

Hm... Czy jednak telewizor nie powinien sobie przeskalowywać rozdzielczości 1280x720 do natywnej? Wydaje mi się, że na telewizor jest podawany obraz we właściwej rozdzielczości, jednakże gdzieś "po drodze" jest on przeskalowywany do formatu 5:4.

No i po powyższych zabawach, jestem zmuszony do używania konta gościa. Nie jestem w stanie zalogować się na swoje konto.

Nie wspominałem, że zaraz po próbie logowania pojawia się konsola(wydaje mi się, że wtedy wysypują się x'y) ze standardowymi komunikatami, które się wyświetlają podczas startu systemu(oczywiście już wypisane, nic nowego się nie pojawia). Po chwili konsola znika, Ubuntowski dźwięk(nie wiem dokładnie od czego) i wracam do ekranu logowania.
