X3100 i bardzo krótki xorg.conf

Witam serdecznie.
Wczoraj zainstalowałem Ubuntu 8.10 i dzisiaj chciałem skonfigurować myszkę (Logitech mx revolution) wg. tego opisu:
viewtopic.php?t=47613&highlight=revolution

Niestety, ale w pliku xorg.conf nie mam tych sekcji, które są tam podane, żeby je zmienić.
Próbowałem skonfigurowaź xorga poleceniem:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

ale konfiguracja wysypuje się po konfiguracji klawiatury z ostrzeżeniem:

Szukałem już sporo na forum, znalazłem pare tematów z tym problemem, ale nigdzie nie znalazłem rozwiązania, które by mi pomogło.

W 8.10 plik xorg jest właśnie taki minimalny

W takim razie jak mam zmodyfikować sekcje "Section "ServerLayout"" i "InputDevice "Configured Mouse"" skoro ich nie ma?
Czy mam je sam dodać?
