Od czasu przejścia z Ubu 8.04 -> Ubu 8.10 odnotowałem wielgachny spadek wydajności mej karty graficznej. Szukałem czegoś w Google, nic nei znalazłem.
Moja karta - NVidia, modelu nei pamiętam, 64 MB RAM.

Jeżeli to pomoże - zmieniałem środowisko graficzne z GNOME na IceWM, ale i to nie pomogło. Kilkakrotnie próbowałem się też bawić z nvidia-xconfig i xorgiem.

Co do DRI - sprawdzałem w Synapticu pakiety z tym słowem kluczowym:
-libgl1-mesa-dri;
-libgl1-mesa-glx;
-libdrm2;
-x11-utils;

Po aktualizacji na Ubuntu 9.04 wszystko śmiga jak marzenie dzięki automatycznemu wyszukaniu sterowników własnościowych. Z IceWM na glxgears FPS wynosi ~1000:
