Ubuntu nie wykrywa monitora

Wygląda sprawa tak że nie działa mi moja karta graficzna z monitorem CRT, kiedyś o tym pisałem. Pomyślałem sobie że jeżeli teraz wyszły nowe stery do ATI o numerze 9.1 to ja z chęcią je zgram i będzie śmigało, niestety znów ekran się popsuł, znów odłączyłem kartę graficzną (ati hd2600) i uruchomiłem ponownie komputer. Niestety nie mogę zmienić odświeżania monitora i jestem na 60hz, choć wcześniej miałem 75hz. Ubuntu 8.10 nie wykrywa mi monitora:/

To raczej problem ze źle zainstalowanymi/skonfigurowanymi sterownikami. Poszukaj na forum, pogoogluj...
Częstotliwość zmieniasz przez edycę:

Wywaliłem wszystkie stery jakie miałem.
Wpisałem sudo pico /etc/X11/xorg.conf;

Ale zamierzasz używać jakiej karty graficznej? Tego intela? Po instalacji sterowników jeżeli system Ci nie wykryje monitora to może coś wyedytujemy w xorgu:)Napisz dokładnie jaki monitor, nazwa i typ.
