Dysk zewnętrzny USB popsuty przez Windows XP.

Witam, mój kumpel korzystał z powodzeniem z dysku Elements zewnętrznego pod Ubuntu 10.04, wróciliśmy na święto do domu i podłączył go do kompa z XP, XP najpierw szukał sterowników, później wykrył dysk jako "Unkown Device" - czyli go nie wykrył. Po ponowny podłączeniu do Ubuntu dysk się nie montuje, po próbie podłączenia do Vista/Seven (wcześniej działał bez przeszkód) to samo co na XP - Unkown Device i niepowodzenie w instalowaniu sterowników. Proszę o pomoc.

Może spróbuj go zamontować ręcznie w XP-ku. Start prawy na moim komputerze i tam jest zarządzanie dyskami??(niepamietam musiałbym sprawdzić) musisz poszukac w Magazyn Wymienny i zamontować go ręcznie klepnij prawym na dysku i wybierz litere do montowania. Sprawdź też czy nie jest nierozpoznany w innej zakładce. Potem spróbuj coś na niego wgrać i go sformatować spod XP.
Zajrzę jeszcze dzisiaj na kompa z XP i popatrzre bo nie pamiętam dokładnie.
Czasem zdarza się,że windows próbuje formatować dyski w jakiś inny format.

Niewiem. Normalnie dyski wymienne sa w FAT i raczej nie ma problemów z ich rozpoznaniem. Ostatnie takie chopki miałem z mp4 siostry z marketu ale to się udało obejść. Zobacz może kolega go sformatował na inny system plików. Nie mam pojęcia dlaczego ,,device not accpeting"

Może spróbować restartu XP z wpiętym dyskiem lub podpiąć pod inny port.??Sprawdź też kabelek, czasem te chińskie lubią się popsuć.

Nigdzie nie mogę znaleźć znaczenia błędu -71

Moge tylko Ciebie pocieszyc ze takie same mam wydruki z moim IDE ATA 80 GB podlaczanym tez kablem USB.
Wedlug mnie konczy sie dysk, podobne bledy zaczal mi wyswietlac program do backupa systemu/partycji PING juz z rok temu, ale dysk nadal dziala z tym, ze nie byl przez ten okres podlaczany pod zaden system MS, tylko pod Linuxem.

Gdy nie odlacze a restartuje system nie widzi go, u mnie wystarczy wyjac wtyczke i wlozyc ponownie - zaskakuje.
Moj jest z formatowany jako NTFS, wczesniej uzywalem pod oboma systemami i tak zostalo.

Moje podejrzenia sa tego typu, ze jak uzywalem pod XP zdarzylo mi sie wyjac wtyczke USB mimo, ze nie odlaczyl programowo dysku, bo ile mozna klikac - odlacz a tu caly czas komunikat "ze jest uzywany" skoro nie jest i posypal sie deskryptor partycji.
U mnie jeszcze dziala, a u Ciebie padlo calkowicie.

Mozesz sprobowac jakies programy dedykowane przez producenta dysku do formatu.
Ja swoj jak wroce do domu klonuje i kosz, szkoda mi danych zapisanych na nim.
