Windows 8.1 niewidoczny po instalacji UBUNTU 14.04

Cześć, to mój pierwszy post, więc mam nadzieję, że w dobrym dziale założyłem post.

Mam laptopa lenovo G510 z oryginalnym Windows'em 8.1, wszystkie aktualizacje były zainstalowane. Jako, że w następnym semestrze mam przedmiot wprowadzenie do linuxa, postanowiłem zainstalować Ubuntu. Zmniejszyłem partycje D (na C mam zainstalowanego Windowsa), wyłączyłem fast boot. Dodam, że w BIOS'ie nie mam żadnej opcji, w której w nazwie jest coś związanego z SecureBoot. Nagrałem Ubuntu za pomocą Universal USB Installer, pobranego z http://www.pendrivelinux.com/, na pendrive. W BIOS'ie miałem domyślnie włączony boot z pendrive, więc nie musiałem przestawiać tej opcji . Zobaczyłem, że odpaliło się okno jak przy wyborze systemów, to pomyślałem, że jest wszystko w porządku. Miałem do wyboru kilka opcji. Na początek wybrałem, żeby wypróbować Ubuntu. Wszystko pięknie uruchomiło się, ładnie działało, więc ostatecznie zdecydowałem się i zacząłem instalacje systemu. Z nieprzydzielonego miejsca, które zostało po zmniejszeniu partycji D, utworzyłem nową partycje podstawową dla Ubuntu z systemem plików ext4, i zaznaczyłem z listy opcje "/" - z tego co wyczytałem to oznacza partycje root, na której będzie zainstalowany system. Po instalacji, Ubuntu poprosiło mnie o zrestartowanie komputera.
I tu jest problem: Po odłączeniu pendrive Ubuntu automatycznie uruchomiło się bez jakiegokolwiek ekranu wyboru systemu. Próbowałem zmieniać różne opcje w BIOS'ie, jednak bezskutecznie.
Dodam, że przed tworzeniem partycji dla Ubuntu musiałem odmontanować pozostałe partycje. Ma to jakiś związek z problemem?

Prosiłbym o dokładne tłumaczenie, ponieważ jestem zielony jeżeli chodzi o te tematy. Jeżeli chodzi o linuxa to nie miałem jako takiej styczności z konsolą, a gdy próbowałem coś zrobić i prosiło mnie o hasło, to nic nie mogłem wpisać; mogłem tylko nacisnąć enter po czym pokazywało mi, że wpisałem nieprawidłowe hasło.
Jeżeli macie jakieś pytania dotyczące sprzętu lub czegokolwiek w tym stylu to postaram się odpowiedzieć

Patrzyłem do tego tematu i nawet próbowałem uruchomić ten skrypt, jednak tak jak już mówiłem - po wpisaniu do terminala jakiejś komendy, przez którą prosi mnie o podanie hasła (np. su, albo sudo), terminal nie reaguje na nic oprócz klawisza enter :/
Wszystkie pliki Windowsa, jak i dane z dysku C i D zostały, więc liczę, że jakaś nadzieja jest

OK, jak instalowałeś Ubuntu to podawałeś jakieś hasło dla użytkownika. Kiedy cię system zapyta o hasło => wpisz je i klepnij Enter.
Nie przejmuj się tym, że nie widać ilości i obrazów wpisywanych znaków, wpisz je i klepnij Enter.

Wszystko działa jak należy. Mogę już włączyć Windowsa. Dziękuje bardzo
Jeszcze takie pytanie mam. Czy da się jakoś zmienić, żeby Windows był domyślnie uruchamiany, gdy nie zdążę wybrać systemu?

A co do samego uruchamiania się to trochę to niepokojąco wygląda.

Następnie po tym ekranie jak ze screena, mam czarny ekran przez około 5 sekund, może trochę mniej. U was też tak to wygląda? Nie są to jakieś skutki niepoprawnych działań/komend czy czegokolwiek takiego?

To z tym dziwnym ekranem to po prostu zamiast Windows wybierałem Windows 8 (loader) (na /dev/sda1)
